Final Conference of the project “Promoting Interethnic Dialogue in Local Government”



As part of the project “Promoting Interethnic Dialogue in Local Government” implemented by the NGO ACDC with the support of the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) a public discussion was held on March 28th at Civil Energy Center at North Mitrovica.

As part of the project “Promoting Interethnic Dialogue in Local Government” implemented by the NGO ACDC with the support of the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) a public discussion was held on March 28th at Civil Energy Center at North Mitrovica.

Ther panelists included Executive Director of the NGO ACDC Dušan Radaković, The Deputy President of the local assembly in North Mitrovica, Skender Sadiku and Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Emilija Redžepi.

Numerous medias, representatives of international organizations, political representatives, and other citizens attended this event.

Executive Director of the NGO ACDC Dušan Radaković emphasized during his address that this project started two years ago and that despite numerous problems and challenges in the field, the project has been successfully implemented. He emphasized that the aim was to increase the level of inter-ethnic interaction and cooperation level among different communities in the municipalities of North Mitrovica and Zvečan.

The Deputy President of the local assembly in North Mitrovica, Skender Sadiku, explained that North Mitrovica is a multi-ethnic city and that the local assembly faces numerous problems, but despite this, he believes that building multi-ethnicity is the only way to a better life for all communities living in Kosovo.

Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Emilija Redžepi, said she believes that building trust and the participation of minority communities in political life are key to solving the problems of all communities and that this should be fought for through institutions.

"The government is ready to be accessible to all citizens in all communities, from Leposavić to Dragaš. I am ready to help and respond to all requests that are in the interest of the local population. This will promote dialogue, and the economy brings people together. Mutual respect and appreciation should be at a higher level," emphasizes Emilija Redžepi.
