On October 17, on the premises of the International Business College in North Mitrovica, the NGO Advocacy Center for Democratic Culture (ACDC) organized a public conference on corruption. The conference aimed to raise awareness on the importance of fighting against corruption.

The Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency, Ill Buleshkaj, spoke about the mandate of the ACA in law enforcement and added that transparency is the key factor in preventing corruption. In addition, the director mentioned that the representatives of the Agency initiated meetings with all institutions with which cooperation is necessary.

The deputy mayor of North Mitrovica, Adrijana Hodžić, confirmed that the local self-government she represents is ready to cooperate with all competent institutions. "I believe that we, as a society, are obliged to give our contribution and that, wherever we see even the slightest evidence of corruption, it must be reported", said Hodžić.

The director of the Budget and Finance Department of the Municipality of Leposavić, Nataša Nastić, presented the problems faced by the local self-government in Leposavic and mentioned the case of the construction of a swimming pool on which over a million euros were spent, which has not been realized to this day and no one was held accountable.

All panelists encouraged and invited citizens to report any form of corruption and pointed out the necessity of involving as many citizens as possible in the decision-making process.

During the conference, which served as the final event of the project Enhancing the institutional response to corruption in northern Kosovo, NGO ACDC's Executive Director, Dusan Radakovic presented the project's activities and stated that corruption has no nation, noting that at least one reported case contributes to its suppression.
