The conference will bring together representatives of judicial institutions, the Kosovo Judicial Council and Prosecutorial Council, prosecution offices, the legal profession, international organizations, academia, and civil society organizations, with the aim of opening a professional dialogue on the functioning of the judiciary in northern Kosovo following the departure of judges, prosecutors, and administrative staff from the Serbian community.
The conference will focus on analyzing the current situation in the judicial system, the consequences of reduced representation of non-majority communities within judicial institutions, challenges in access to justice, as well as opportunities and preconditions for the return of judicial professionals to institutions.
The event will also provide an opportunity for the exchange of views and experiences among relevant stakeholders, identification of key obstacles, and formulation of recommendations that may contribute to strengthening trust in the judicial system and improving its efficiency and inclusiveness.
