The training was led by Habit Hajredini, Director of the Office for Good Governance, who discussed with participants ways to strengthen institutional capacities and improve cooperation in providing support to victims.

Nathalie Niedoba, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Canada, addressed the participants, emphasizing that preventing and responding to sexual and gender-based violence requires fundamental changes in social norms and power relations. She noted that violence is not inevitable but a consequence of inequality, and that investments in prevention and equality are key to lasting change.

The activity was implemented within the framework of the project “Breaking the Silence: Combating Sexual Harassment and Gender-Based Violence in Northern Kosovo”, carried out by NGO ACDC with the support of the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI).
The project aims to increase awareness among citizens, especially women and girls, about forms of sexual harassment and available protection mechanisms, and to strengthen trust in institutions through training and improved cooperation between relevant actors in combating gender-based violence.
