On behalf of a group of civil activists and non-governmental organizations, we are forwarding a joint appeal to KFOR.
Following yesterday's violent actions by the Kosovo Police, which acted to further the political agenda of the Self-Determination Movement Party, we call on KFOR to urgently establish checkpoints in front of institutions that provide services to the majority population in the north.
We believe that only KFOR's actions can ensure peace and security in the Serbian areas of northern Kosovo and create space for political dialogue under the auspices of the European Union to resolve all outstanding issues in the normalization process.
Otherwise, the continuation of the violent behavior of Kosovo institutions will lead to incalculable consequences for the lives of Serbs in municipalities with a Serbian majority and further damage the already fragile status of multi-ethnic Kosovo.
