A group of non-governmental organizations from northern Kosovo strongly condemns last night's attack on the Ibar-Lepenac canal in Zubin Potok, which is crucial for the regular supply of water and electricity to a large number of Kosovo residents.

We call on all socio-political actors in Kosovo to approach this incident responsibly and act in accordance with the law. Relevant institutions must investigate all the circumstances of the attack and identify those responsible, while international organizations should ensure the proper functioning of police forces and prevent the misuse of this event to further increase pressure on the Serbian community in Kosovo.

We also urge the media to report on this incident responsibly, based on facts, and to ensure that this event is not used to escalate ethnic tensions in Kosovo further.
