Speakers at the conference included:

  • Ganimete Xhelili, President of the Kosovo Chamber of Mediators, who emphasized that the number of mediation cases is increasing across all regions of Kosovo. She highlighted the importance of promoting mediation among citizens as an efficient way of resolving disputes, its contribution to alleviating court workloads, and the need to strengthen public trust in the justice system.

  • Bekim Ismaili, a professional mediator, shared positive examples of successfully resolved cases through mediation and pointed out the need for more trained mediators, especially from non-majority communities, to ensure broader access to this mechanism.

The conference was moderated by Ines Aljović Mihajlović and held at the ACDC premises in North Mitrovica.

This activity is part of the project “Supporting Access to Justice in Northern Kosovo”, funded by UNMIK.
