Seeds of Cooperation: Building Multiethnic Green Spaces in Mitrovica

The project “Seeds of Cooperation: Building Multiethnic Green Spaces in Mitrovica” is implemented by NGO ACDC with the aim of promoting environmental protection, youth empowerment, and interethnic cooperation in North Mitrovica. The project addresses shared environmental challenges—such as waste mismanagement, lack of green public spaces, and low awareness of sustainable practices—by using them as a platform for dialogue, cooperation, and collective action among young people from different ethnic communities.

By engaging youth aged 14–29 from both majority and non-majority communities, the project combines environmental education with hands-on activities, including the creation of two multiethnic urban gardens, community clean-up actions, and an anti-littering campaign. Through workshops, advocacy meetings, and creative outreach tools such as a short documentary film and social media campaign, young women and men are empowered to become active agents of change in their community.
